Virtually the first time I met Wadada was on stage Before our set. We skirt around for a while, as one does, hearing how the land lies, but it doesn’t take long. The first track is a piano solo based on a piece I had previously premiered at Bishopsgate: Homage to Professor Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes’ redoubtable adversary. Permission from Treader.
