I met Terry Jennings in California in the early seventies. We were due to play a two-piano concert at Cal Arts. After a couple of hours he eventually showed up. Meanwhile, I had to entertain the punters. I recall playing First Prelude by Howard Skempton. Alison Knowles of Fluxus fame was in the audience and she enthused over Howard’s piece. She wrote to him and became a fan.
